The doctor prescribed my nearly 10-year-old son a dose of abrilit 5mg. My son vomited about 1 hour after taking the first dose, he was sleepy, he seemed to function normally, but differently. He rolled his eyes as he used to do when he was very sleepy. After consulting with a doctor, I decided to reduce the dose to 2.5mg. Should I even give him this drug with such severe side effects?

Did you consult this situation with your attending physician? Vomiting and eye movement disorders such as nystagmus (involuntary, rapid eye movements) are less common, but can occur after taking aripiprazole. You should consult your doctor as soon as possible to discuss these symptoms and adjust your treatment accordingly. It's hard for me to say whether the drug should be discontinued or not in this situation, because such a decision should be made by a doctor. I would therefore advise you to consult to discuss the dose or consider changing the drug to another one that is safer for the child.
