Can I stop taking Marvelon tablets in the second week of the cycle and resume taking them after 7 days?

Hello
I'm in the second week of taking the contraceptive pill marvelon (I've been taking it for 4 years), I went on a 5 day trip to Spain and I forgot my medicine. I haven't had intercourse since day 14. What should I do now? Can I take a 7-day break from the medication and start a new pack when I return? With additional security measures.

In such a situation, the best solution will be to start a new pack on the first day of the next cycle (i.e. on the first day of menstruation). In the meantime, spotting associated with stopping hormonal contraception in the middle of the cycle may occur. Since there was no intercourse in the run-up, there is no risk of accidental pregnancy.

You can also try to buy the contraceptive pill (or equivalent) at a Spanish pharmacy (if you have the opportunity to get a prescription in paper form, e.g. a printout of an e-prescription after a teleconsultation with a gynaecologist).

On our website you can check the availability of medicines and make a reservation at the pharmacy:

In case of any doubts, I encourage you to use the tele-consultation with a gynaecologist - the service is available in the e-visit tab:
