Can taking Escitalopram cause brain damage?

Good evening I wonder if taking escitalopram for several months as per therapeutic treatment can result in brain damage

No, there is no evidence that taking Escitalopram as part of a therapeutic treatment and as directed by your doctor can cause brain damage.

Escitalopram, like any drug, is tested for safety and effectiveness. It may or may not cause side effects. All of them are described in the package leaflet for legal and safety reasons. Escitalopram is well tolerated, but patients may report headache and nausea at the beginning of treatment.
