Is nausea and a bitter taste in the mouth after increasing the dosage of Brintellix a cause for concern?

Good morning I have been using brintellix for at least 2 years, 1 tablet a day without having any problems, for about 3 months the doctor gave me 2 a day and including nausea and bitter mouth, is it possible that it is brintellix? Thank you

Yes, this is a known phenomenon. If you experience new symptoms after changing your Brintelix dose, such as nausea, is a common side effect. However, I do not find any information in the medical literature regarding a bitter taste in the mouth.

Due to the fact that the side effects of medications are a very individual matter - we cannot be sure that they will go away when the drug starts to work, so the symptoms you describe should be reported to your doctor.

Please remember that side effects of medications should be reported to your doctor or individually. By reporting side effects, you help other patients, including your relatives, who may also need the same medication in the future. This step also allows us to gather more information on the safety of medicinal products and to keep their data up to date. We wrote about how to do it here:

If you do not have the possibility of an in-person visit, I encourage you to take advantage of the teleconsultation:
