Risperidone (the active substance in Rispolept) is an antipsychotic medicine mainly used to treat schizophrenia, bipolar disorder (mania) and some cases of aggression and irrational behaviour. The decision to use the medicine, including on an ad hoc basis, should be made by the doctor on the basis of the patient's individual assessment.
In the case of psychotropic drugs, regular doses are usually recommended to maintain a constant concentration of the drug in the blood and to obtain optimal therapeutic effects. However, there are situations in which it may be necessary to use the medication on an emergency basis, for example in the event of a sudden worsening of psychotic symptoms. I encourage you to contact your doctor.
