Information in the summary of product characteristics of Metoprolol:
'Metoprolol VP must not be used during pregnancy and lactation.
unless strictly necessary.
If metoprolol is used in a pregnant or breastfeeding woman, special attention should be paid to symptoms caused by blockade of beta-adrenergic receptors (bradycardia, hypoglycaemia) in the foetus, newborn or breastfed child."
With the above warnings in mind, you should only use this medicine after consulting a doctor experienced in the treatment of hypertension in lactating women.
The manufacturer of Potazek also does not recommend the use of this preparation during lactation, so you should strictly follow the doctor's recommendations.
