Good morning. I have such a question, recently I have been suffering from insomnia and problems with falling asleep. I was in a pharmacy and the pharmacist recommended me melatonin 3 mg from Lekam. This is my first foray into melatonin. And here's my question: shouldn't I start with one milligram of melatonin, or can I take that 3 mg right away? I would also like to mention that for the sake of family reasons, in the morning I take valerin 360 Max and drink an infusion of lemon balm, whether these three medications will not bite each other

Information in the summary of product characteristics:
"In circadian rhythm disorders of sleep and wakefulness associated with e.g. shift work: 1 mg to 5 mg per day one hour before bedtime.
The effect of the drug in the long-term treatment of circadian rhythm disorders of sleep and wakefulness is sometimes observed only after 2 weeks of taking the drug.
The well-established medical use of melatonin includes doses from 0.5 mg, the lowest effective dose of melatonin should be used."
Theoretically, the use of Melatonin should be started with the lowest dose, i.e. 1 mg, but I do not know what arrangements in the conversation with the pharmacist caused the prescription of a stronger dose - perhaps it is justified.
You can use Valerin max and lemon balm infusion in the morning.
