I've been taking it for 8 weeks now Aknemycin Plus and can't see any improvement at all. Also have no side effects. When does it start to work, since you can only take it for 12 weeks?

Aknemycin Plus is a medicine used to treat acne that contains two active substances: erythromycin (antibiotic) and tretinoin (retinoid). It is a drug that works against acne by reducing inflammation of the skin, fighting bacteria on the skin and improving skin renewal. In most people, a marked improvement is observed within 4 weeks. However, full results and significant improvement in the skin may require a longer period of treatment, up to several months.
No studies have been conducted to confirm the safety of Aknemycin for more than 4-6 weeks. Nevertheless, the drug is practically not absorbed into the systemic circulation, it only causes a local effect - so it can be guessed that long-term use may be associated with, for example, a higher risk of skin irritation, skin dryness or reduced sensitivity to the drug (which will make the therapy less effective). However, it does not pose a threat to the health and life of the patient.
Please note that every case of acne is different and the effectiveness of treatment may vary from patient to patient. There are many different acne medications and therapies on the market, so your doctor can tailor your treatment plan to your individual needs.
