Can I get pregnant with a contraceptive implant?

Can I get pregnant with a contraceptive implant? I have symptoms typical of pregnancy: breast tenderness, visible mammary glands, abdominal pain, sensitivity to odors, fatigue and bleeding for 5 days that look like menstruation. But the pregnancy test came out negative. A visit to the gynecologist only in a week and a half, so the question is whether I can be pregnant, how quickly the implant should be removed and what side effects can be. Previously caesarean sections, therefore asking if I can be in an ectopic pregnancy.

The risk of possible pregnancy while wearing the implant is less than 1%. Perhaps, in the first place, it is worth repeating the home pregnancy test from the pharmacy or performing an even more accurate test for the concentration of betaHCG from the blood in the laboratory. If the results still indicate no pregnancy, it will not be necessary to remove the implant. The symptoms you mention may be related to the supply of hormones from the implant, they do not have to be a symptom of pregnancy. I enclose links to pages where you can compare the prices of popular pregnancy tests and you can order a test with home delivery or collection at a pharmacy, e.g. https://www.gdziepolek.pl/produkty/97388/pink-test-ciazowy-strumieniowy-super-czuly-domowe-laboratrium-test/apteki https://www.gdziepolek.pl/produkty/91349/pink-test-ciazowy-plytkowy-super-czuly-domowe-laboratrium-test/apteki https://www.gdziepolek.pl/produkty/94711/baby-boom-test-ciazowy-kasetowy-test/apteki If the test results will be positive, then the implant should be removed as soon as possible. To @Stellina:

If you are concerned about pregnancy, it is a good idea to take a home pregnancy test from the pharmacy or perform an even more accurate test for betaHCG levels from the blood in a laboratory.

To @Luciana:

Bleeding symptoms and abdominal pain can have various causes. They can also be the result of embryo implantation (acceptance of the embryo through the lining of the uterus), or infections or a problem related to the implant. It is difficult to suggest a specific cause of your ailment on the basis of such a short description. I encourage you to make an appointment with your doctor, who will adjust the treatment according to your current clinical condition.

If you do not have the opportunity to consult your doctor, you can use the teleconsultation here:

Since you are pregnant, the most important thing is to consult your doctor immediately, who will perform a thorough examination and carry out the necessary diagnostic tests. Your doctor will be able to provide you with specific information and recommendations for your situation.

I got pregnant 1 year after the placement of my implant, I knew them thanks to a blood test, after noticing several symptoms suspecting pregnancy, but now I have vaginal bleeding for 2 days, followed by abdominal pain. I want to keep this pregnancy and I want to know if wearing the implant can affect the non-progression of my pregnancy?

To @Aneta: Spotting and intracyclic bleeding occur most often at the beginning of implant use and are associated with the adjustment of the hormonal axis. If they persist spontaneously in the next cycle, please contact your gynecologist. Please note that any bleeding disorders should be consulted with a gynecologist when using contraception. As for breast discharge, this is not a typical side effect of the implant. There can be many reasons for leakage from the nipple, and this is not always a sign of lesions. An alarming symptom may be the exit of thick, yellow purulent discharge. Other accompanying symptoms include tension, redness and increased warming of the skin, most often the upper-outer quadrant of the breast (less often the entire gland), increased body temperature, muscle and headache. It is difficult to propose a specific diagnosis based on such a short description. I encourage you to make an appointment with your doctor who will adjust the treatment according to your current clinical condition. If you are unable to get to your doctor, the GdziePoLek.pl service also allows you to obtain a teleconsultation with a doctor: https://www.gdziepolek.pl/telekonsultacja/z-ginekologiem

Hello, I also have a contraceptive implant, I have frequent bleeding and spotting, the day before yesterday I started bleeding again and today I noticed that after pressing the nipple comes out of it secretion even though I no longer feed the baby for about 1.5 years, can it be caused by the contraceptive implant?
