Do side effects occur when reducing the dose of ssri? I am in the process of stopping Asertin and have been taking 25 mg instead of 50 mg for a week (all after consulting a doctor). After a week of taking a smaller dose, I became tearful and my mood deteriorated, I have some strange thoughts and unjustified fears. Is this the result of a dose reduction or is there simply something still wrong with me?

The appearance of side effects is influenced by m.in factors such as the length of treatment and the size of the doses used. Unwanted symptoms have been reported during dose reduction or after discontinuation of sertraline, usually moderate in intensity and occurred within the first few days after discontinuation of the drug.
