Can I go back to using Escitalopram after a caesarean section?

Good morning, I am 36 h after caesarean section . I received morphine one dose, poltram two doses (the last dose over 24 hours ago). Currently, he has been taking paracetamol and ibuprofen alone since the day. For 10 years, I take escitalopram 10 mg - for the period of pregnancy reduced dose to half a 5 mg tablet. I took a two-day break in taking the drug - the day of the C-section and the first 24 hours after it. Can I take the medicine safely today? It will not interfere with previously administered very strong painkillers ?

The half-life of morphine, which is the time it takes for half of the substance to be eliminated from the body, is about 2-4 hours. This means that after about 2-4 hours after administration, the concentration of morphine in the blood is halved. In the light of this information, after about 48 hours of taking painkillers, I think that you can safely take standard medications, such as Escitalopram. For women who took escitalopram before pregnancy and used this medicine to control symptoms of depression, your doctor may decide to continue treatment after delivery if you think it is beneficial for the mother and baby. However, it should be remembered that small amounts of escitalopram can pass into breast milk, which means that there is a risk that the baby will be exposed to this drug. At the following link you can check the availability of the drug in pharmacies in Polish and make a reservation at the facility of your choice: https://www.gdziepolek.pl/produkty/27586/escitalopram-actavis-tabletki-powlekane/apteki
