Can alprazolam (Afobam) and tramadol (Tramal Retard) be used at the same time?

Hello. I take tramal retard 100 mg (morning and evening). I also take Afobam 1mg on an ad hoc basis. Drugs were prescribed by other doctors. Is it possible to take Afobam, between taking doses of Tramal. If so, how long do you have to wait. Thank you in advance for your answers. Best regards

The simultaneous use of tramadol (Tramal Retard) and alprazolam (Afobam) is not recommended due to the risk of potentiation of the central nervous system depressant. Due to the relatively high doses of both alprazolam and tramadol, and given that tramadol is administered as prolonged-release tablets, the interval appears to be an insufficient safety measure in this case. Without consulting a doctor, you should not combine both drugs. The doctor should decide whether there is any possibility of the two medicines being used concomitantly in this particular case and, if so, whether a dose modification or dose reduction is necessary.
