Question about Ozempic (of course) For several years I have been taking Glucophage/Siofor. now the diabetologist has added Ozepic 0.25. It is, as you know, a pen once a week. The question is - assuming a pessimistic scenario when hypoglycemia may occur after administration a few hours later, or every day for a whole week?. Of course, I will minimize the level of glucose with a glucometer, but some concerns are sitting in my head

There is no risk of hypoglycaemia when Ozempic is combined with metformin-containing medicines. There is also no need to adjust metformin doses. This is due to the mechanism of action of semaglutig, the active substance of Ozempic. Semaglutide reduces blood glucose in a glucose-dependent manner by stimulating insulin secretion and reducing glucagon secretion when blood glucose is high. The mechanism of blood glucose reduction also includes a slight delay in early postprandial gastric emptying. During hypoglycaemia, semaglutide reduces insulin secretion without impairing glucagon secretion.
