Will the iron test show if I have an excess of this element in my blood?

Hello, I suspect anemia and about 2 weeks ago I started taking iron on my own (chela ferr-forte iron with a double dose) or something like that. Of course, I'm going to go for blood tests after the iron treatment to see if everything is ok. But my question is, will testing for anemia show excess iron? I am 99% convinced that I have anemia because I have already had it before and everything indicates it, but if it turns out that it is not, this excess will come out in the test?

Yes, the iron level test will show a certain numerical value, next to it will be given a range of norms. If the result is below the norm - this will indicate a deficiency of this element, if the figures exceed the range of the norm, it will be synonymous with an excess of iron. In parallel with the iron level test, it is also worth testing the ferritin level (Ferritin acts as an iron store in the body, and its concentration reflects the iron stores in the body.)
