Can Pentasa cause a decrease in ferritin levels?

Hello, my daughter is diagnosed under the account of Lesniowski krona disease, for this reason takes kek PENTASA. In a blood test, she has low ferritin (7). My question: does this drug cause that iron from food is not absorbed? I would add that for 5 months I drink Feroplex (iron) and yesterday's result of Ferritin-7, and the norm 13-67

Side effects such as blood disorders m.in anaemia, which may be indicated by low ferritin levels, have been reported very rarely with Pentasa. It is possible that the use of the drug has an effect on abnormal laboratory test results. Crohn's disease can also lead to iron malabsorption. In order to correctly interpret the test results and introduce appropriate treatment, you should see a doctor. I encourage you to report side effects observed while taking medication. Below I attach information on how and why it is worth doing: https://www.gdziepolek.pl/artykuly/jak-i-dlaczego-zglaszac-dzialania-niepozadane I attach materials that may be interesting and information about the possibility of using teleconsultation: https://www.gdziepolek.pl/artykuly/zycie-z-choroba-crohna https://www.gdziepolek.pl/kategorie/choroby-jelit https://www.gdziepolek.pl/telekonsultacja
