Could it be a pregnancy, but it's too early for the test to detect it?

My period is already 3 weeks late. I had my last menstrual period on January 29 (until February 3) with my partner we regularly have sex, in February often unprotected. I took a pregnancy test a few days ago with a negative result. In the last week I noticed a negligible amount of blood in the mucus and after sex, and sometimes there was a whitish secretion. There were also temporary cutaneous pains on the right and left sides of the lower abdomen. Could it be a pregnancy, but it's too early for the test to detect it?

Pregnancy tests from blood or urine should easily detect pregnancy after about 14 days after intercourse, during which conception may have occurred. Of course, depending on the method, the sensitivity of the pregnancy test can vary and some can detect pregnancy even earlier. A good time to get tested in a patient who does not menstruate regularly can be problematic. I do not know if you are such a patient. If the cycle has been regular so far, and now it is delayed by as much as 3 weeks, spotting and pain appeared, with a negative pregnancy test result, this should prompt you to visit a gynecologist.
