The product is intended for short-term use. The period of self-use of Dulcobis should not exceed 5 days. Doing so can cause a health risk and cause intestinal dysregulation and permanent damage. As with other laxatives, the medicinal product should not be used daily for a long period of time without investigating the cause of constipation. Long-term use can lead to disturbance of water and electrolyte balance and hypokalemia. Loss of water from the intestines can promote dehydration. Symptoms include thirst and oliguria. Patients may observe the presence of blood in the stool, however, this symptom is usually mild in severity and self-limiting in nature. Dizziness and syncope have been reported in patients treated with Dulcobis. Available data on these cases indicate that syncope is associated with attempted bowel movement or vasovagal reaction to abdominal pain, which may be related to constipation but not necessarily directly related to the use of the medicinal product. Please consult your doctor as soon as possible. The specialist may recommend another, safe way of treatment.
