What can spotting mean after 13 months of using Evra patches?

Good morning. 24 months ago I had a caesarean section, I have been using Evra patches for 13 months. I glue the patches on the stomach according to the instructions on the leaflet. I did not have any side effects from using contraception. However, now I have been spotting/vaginal discharge for 10 days. Mostly they are brown, but sometimes bloody. I shouldn't get a withdrawal bleeding until this Thursday. Please tell me if this is normal? Could it mean a serious health problem?

It is difficult to answer unequivocally what may be caused by intracyclic spotting after a long period of trouble-free use of Evra patches. Spotting can take a long time to occur, e.g. as a result of illness or excessive stress, and is usually not a cause for concern, but it is recommended to visit a gynecologist who will carry out tests to rule out health causes.
