Hello! My 7-year-old son has been prescribed Konaten 40mg for a month and a half. Previously, he took Medikinet 20, then 40. The son is diagnosed with Asperger's Syndrome and Adhd. Currently, he has constant mood swings, is aggressive, threatened with expulsion from school. Can the drug be discontinued at any time and what are the withdrawal symptoms?

Konaten should be discontinued by gradually reducing the dose over time. Such a dosage regimen is determined by the doctor. The exception is when significant side effects occur, then you can immediately stop using the drug. During the studies, no pronounced withdrawal symptoms were described. I encourage you to contact your doctor to discuss your son's pharmacotherapy. I enclose materials that may be interesting and information about the possibility of using teleconsultation: https://www.gdziepolek.pl/artykuly/czy-jak-i-kiedy-mozna-odstawic-leki https://www.gdziepolek.pl/telekonsultacja
