Good morning I have a question, the son is after influenza type a and post-infectious arthritis for 5 years. Today he feels good on the first day, but his neutrophils have dropped to 370, is it dangerous? Can neutrophils be so low after the flu? Best regards

Please note that test results should always be interpreted with your doctor. Neutropenia is a decrease in neutrophil counts below normal (1800 to 8000/uL). Reduced neutrophil levels (neutropenia) are usually found with viral infections (here influenza). I suggest repeating the examination, in about a month from the previous one, provided that the child is healthy. Only then, if the values of neutrophil concentration continue to decrease, look for the cause. The low level of neutrophils obtained in the study alone is not sufficient evidence of disease.
