Good morning, last year in May I had purulent dental inflammation and the dentist prescribed me metronidazole. Since then, I have been bitter in my mouth all the time. The dentist thinks that it is certainly not from the teeth or such a side skirt can last so long? I would like to add that I live in Scotland and here the doctors spread their hands and prescribe more antibiotics.

When using Metronidazole, there is often a feeling of metallic taste in the mouth, or as you described it "bitter in the mouth". However, these ailments usually disappear soon after the end of drug therapy. So it is unlikely to last for less than a year. Do you use any other medications? What other antibiotics are you taking? By itself, an untreated infection, inflammation in the mouth can lead to such an unpleasant feeling. A bitter taste in the mouth may be a symptom of some diseases such as reflux, cholelithiasis, oral mycosis, periodontitis or inflammation of the liver. However, these diseases must be ruled out by a doctor, recommending further medical examinations. Have you gone to your GP with this complaint? It is worth reporting an adverse reaction if you think that the problem is related to the medicine you are using: https://www.gdziepolek.pl/artykuly/jak-i-dlaczego-zglaszac-dzialania-niepozadane
