Good morning, does an allergic reaction to Ozempic (swelling of the face, feeling like with the flu) cause the inability to take similar substances, e.g. contained in Saxenda or Trulicity? Will the mechanism of action be different for daily injections? I wonder if the allergy is to all GLP-1 Yours sincerely and thank you in advance for your answer:)

Flu-like symptoms and swelling of the face are not always indicative of an allergic reaction. However, assuming that there is an allergy to the drug Ozempic, it is impossible to say with certainty whether a similar effect will occur after Trulicity and Saxenda. It is not known whether the allergy was related to the main medicinal substance (semaglutide) or to the auxiliary components of the drug. Allergy to a specific substance from a given chemical group does not necessarily determine a similar effect in the case of other drugs.
