Good morning, I have a question about combining medications. Well, the doctor prescribed me for laryngitis capsules Erdomed, which I have to take 2x a day (until 16:00) and syrup Levopront, which I have to take 3x a day for 15 ml. I do not know if I think correctly, but are these not drugs with the opposite effect - expectorant and inhibiting cough reflex? I wonder if I understood their dosage correctly. Is it possible and does it make sense to use them at the same time? Best regards and I will be very grateful for your reply.

Erdomed is a preparation with a mucolytic effect that reduces the viscosity of secretions and facilitates extrusion. It should not be combined with preparations that inhibit the cough reflex, such as Levopront: https://www.gdziepolek.pl/produkty/27509/erdomed-kapsulki/apteki https://www.gdziepolek.pl/produkty/92559/levopront-syrop/apteki The combined use of Erdomed and Levopront increases the risk of accumulation of a large amount of secretion in the bronchial tree, which may cause deterioration of the patient's condition. In practice, it is often recommended to use cough drugs until 16-17, and in the evening to facilitate night rest with a cough inhibiting drug.
