How long does a tooth hurt after putting on a healing filling?

Hi, Yesterday I was given a drug to the tooth I do not know what it is called but it is to be used to save from root canal treatment and whether you can feel discomfort for a long time because not enough that I can not bite well it feels all the time something on the tooth? From the information you have received, I conclude that a medicated seal has been used, possibly containing calcium hydroxide.
