Nystatin is an antifungal drug that is used to treat vaginal mycosis and vulva. This substance does not destroy lactic acid bacteria important for the vaginal environment, nor does it affect the intestinal microbiome. It is not an antibacterial antibiotic, so the use of a probiotic is not strictly required. On the other hand, the use of a gynecological probiotic - orally or vaginally (e.g. the aforementioned Lactovagil) may be justified as a prophylaxis of recurrence of fungal infection. You can start using the probiotic at any time, but the vaginal product will have to be discontinued for the duration of your period. Menstrual blood will flush out the product. Oral gynecological probiotic can be taken all the time, regardless of bleeding.
