Is it possible to use Evra patches when suffering from migraine with aura?
I am 48 years old. I have migraines with aura, to prevent the aura I use divascan tablets. I would like to know if I can start using evra contraceptive patches as part of hormone replacement therapy. Almost everywhere you can read that in this situation they are completely prohibited. The neurologist informed me that I could safely use them, without any fear of stroke or stroke, that they had no effect on it. How is it really?

In patients suffering from migraine with aura, the use of two-component hormonal contraceptives containing the estrogen component is usually not recommended. The occurrence of migraine with aura carries the risk of ischemic stroke and the use of drugs that contain estrogens increases them. A safer hormone therapy in such cases is the use of one-component preparations containing progestogens, they carry a lower risk of thrombotic diseases.
