Hello, I would like to ask about the vaxigrip flu vaccine. How long does this vaccine work? I got vaccinated today (10.08) and I heard that it was too early. I once read that it works all year round and now I wonder if I got vaccinated too early. Regards :)

The effectiveness of the vaccine decreases over time, but it is believed that sufficient immunity against influenza persists for 6-12 months after vaccination. The exact duration of protection may be due to individual factors. According to the VaxigripTetra vaccine documentation: "The doctor will be able to recommend the best time to get vaccinated" - the decision on the date of vaccination is undoubtedly also worth based on the risk factors of the patient. Vaxigrip Tetra produces protective antibodies between 2 and 3 weeks after vaccination. The optimal time for flu vaccination should be ahead of peak disease. The highest risk of influenza occurs between October and March, but in Poland in particular the time January-March is indicated. It is generally indicated that it is best to vaccinate in September-October, but even the November-December time and even early leading is also a period when it is worth gaining immunity before increasing the number of flu infections in the population. Formally, the vaccine is scheduled for the entire 2022/2023 season and can be used until the end of its expiration date, which generally falls on June or July. It is recommended to do vaccination every year. https://www.gdziepolek.pl/kategorie/szczepionki-przeciw-grypie https://www.gdziepolek.pl/artykuly/szczepienia-na-grype-dla-kogo-sa-przeznaczone
