Type 2 diabetes is not a contraindication to the use of Revival, which contains medoxomil olmesartan, a substance from the group of angiotensin II receptor antagonists (AT1). However, the decision whether a given patient can and should use a given drug is made in consultation with the attending physician. It all depends on the condition and needs of a particular patient. In the case of a new drug, it is worth checking the pressure and blood sugar level more often using a glucometer. Currently, in the recommendations of the Polish Diabetes Association, the treatment of hypertension in people with diabetes begins m.in with the use of drugs from the group of angiotensin converting enzyme (ACEI) inhibitors or an angiotensin-like AT1 receptor antagonist with a calcium antagonist or thiazide or thiazide-like diuretic. I found information that Revival should not be used in patients with diabetes, but this information refers to its use in combination with another substance - aliskiren.
