What has a worse effect on erection or too low or too high sugar level?
Good morning. I have type 1 diabetes for 16 years too high sugar levels have a worse effect on erections or too low levels ?? What level of the two is worse?

Both too high and too low sugar levels will have an adverse effect on erection. Poorly controlled diabetes leads to damage to the peripheral and autonomic nervous system, i.e. neuropathy. This is a complication of diabetes.

The most important cause of erectile dysfunction in diabetics is damage to the neurons of the nervous system, i.e. diabetic neuropathy. In patients with erectile dysfunction and diabetes, it is recommended to stop smoking, regular physical activity, reduce body weight and improve glycemic control, hypertension and compensate for lipid disorders.
