This means that the drug is working properly. Nevertheless, the urine test is worth repeating - at the earliest after 7 days from the end of treatment with furagin. As for the pH of urine - ph 8 is normal in this case, urine should not be acidified. I attach information from the manufacturer: "Nitrofurans in urine with a weakly acidic reaction and in urine with an alkaline reaction decompose. This stops reabsorption and accelerates secretion, as well as inhibits penetration into tissues. Conversely, the acidic environment of urine promotes the transformation of nitrofurans into whole molecules that dissolve easily in lipids and penetrate well into tissues. As a result, their reabsorption, accumulation in tissues and the risk of toxic symptoms increases. Therefore, it is not recommended to take ascorbic acid and other urine acidifying drugs simultaneously with nitrofurans."
