"Equivalent" or "substitute" in the pharmaceutical sense of the word is a drug with the same composition, dosage and route of administration, but a different manufacturer. In this sense, Sertranorm has counterparts, but it cannot be said that they are "newer and safer", because it is assumed that they are equivalent: https://www.gdziepolek.pl/produkty/70708/sertranorm-tabletki-powlekane/zamienniki Perhaps you simply mean a completely different drug with similar indications, while here too it is not possible to indicate "better" products, since each medicinal product may or may not cause side effects. "Newer" also does not always mean "better", although in fact new products on the market may show some beneficial features compared to already existing molecules. If for some reason you have reservations about the way Sertranorm works or how it works, it is best to talk to the doctor who is running you. I enclose information about antidepressants: https://www.gdziepolek.pl/artykuly/depresja https://www.gdziepolek.pl/artykuly/czy-bac-sie-dzialan-niepozadanych-lekow
