Good morning I have a question. I have been taking Quensyl for 20 days for systemic lupus. I had terrible joint pain. Although the pains decreased a little, there were swellings of the feet and hands. Is it normal and the swelling will disappear or does it mean that the drug does not work?

I encourage you to consult your doctor. Symptoms of systemic lupus erythematosus include the occurrence of pain and stiffness in the joints. Some patients may experience swelling. Perhaps the doctor after consultation will decide to modify the proposed treatment regimen. Swelling of the feet and hands may also be the result of an allergic reaction to the use of Quensyl. An allergic reaction can occur after short-term use of the drug, but also at a later time. The swelling that occurs may be called angioedema. It consists in the swelling of the skin and the tissues under it. Swelling should be consulted with a doctor. I also encourage you to report the occurrence of an adverse reaction of the drug. Reporting side effects allows you to increase control over medicines available on the market. We wrote about how and why to report side effects in the article: https://www.gdziepolek.pl/artykuly/jak-i-dlaczego-zglaszac-dzialania-niepozadane I encourage you to read the additional materials that may be useful: https://www.gdziepolek.pl/artykuly/toczen-rumieniowaty-czy-da-sie-wyleczyc
