The drug has a sedative and hypnotic effect. Dormicum is used in the short-term treatment of insomnia. In addition, it also exerts anxiolytic, anticonvulsant, sedative and muscle relaxant effects. That is, it relieves the symptoms associated with alcohol withdrawal. Unless otherwise prescribed by the doctor - treatment should last as short as possible, usually from a few days to a maximum of 2 weeks.
