I have been taking Madopar 1 capsule a day for RLS for about a year, we have levodope in the composition, I read that it affects the results of hormonal tests (apparently it raises testosterone and cortisol). For almost a year I have been struggling with hormonal trauma (I also take birth control pills). Could Madopar have deregulated my endocrine system?

The Madopar Summary of Product Characteristics states: "Levodopa may affect laboratory tests for catecholamines, creatinine, uric acid and glucose." However, there is no mention of cortisol and testosterone. The results of scientific studies on the effects of Levodopa contained in Madopar are inconclusive. However, it seems unlikely that the acne lesions you mention are related to the use of Madopar. However, it is worth seeking the advice of an endocrinologist who, if he considers it to be used, will order diagnostic tests.
