Animal studies and limited human safety data indicate that mianserin, the active substance in Lerivon, has no harmful effects on the fetus or newborn. The drug can be used in pregnancy only in cases where, in the opinion of the doctor, the benefit to the mother outweighs the potential danger to the fetus.
