Tamiflu is a prescription drug, so the doctor who prescribed it decides about the legitimacy of its use. However, it should be borne in mind that oseltamivir - the active substance of Tamiflu - does not work against coronavirus. Tamiflu may be prescribed to adults, adolescents, children and infants over 1 year of age to prevent influenza or as a preventive treatment in exceptional circumstances when, for example, the seasonal flu vaccine does not provide sufficient protection because it acts against the influenza virus. Patients who have had COVID-19 are sometimes at higher risk of developing a flu infection, so for preventive purposes, such as when they are in large groups of people, doctors decide to prescribe Tamiflu. Any drug - including Tamiflu - can cause side effects. All of them are listed in the leaflet on page 29: https://www.gdziepolek.pl/produkty/77261/tamiflu-kapsulki/ulotka/106732 Please note that side effects of medicines should be reported to your doctor or individually. By reporting side effects, you help other patients, including your loved ones, who may also need the same medicine one day. This step also allows you to gather more information on the safety of medicinal products and update data on them. We wrote about how to do this here: https://www.gdziepolek.pl/artykuly/jak-i-dlaczego-zglaszac-dzialania-niepozadane
