I suffer from supraventricular tachycardia and I take isoptin SR 120mg and flecainide 100mg. My therapist prescribed me asertin 50mg, but I am horrified by the content of the leaflet and the information that this drug can disturb the heart rhythm and even lead to a heart attack. Is it safe to use these drugs together?

The concomitant use of Asertin and Flecainide is not recommended. Concomitant use of these drugs may increase the concentration of flecainide in the blood. Due to the narrow therapeutic index of the drug, which is associated with the risk of overdose of the drug even under normal conditions of use, these drugs should not be used simultaneously. You should consult the safety of Asertin with the cardiologist under whose care you are.
