There are no adequate data from the use of cefixime, the active substance in Cetix, in pregnant women. Animal studies do not indicate direct or indirect harmful effects with respect to pregnancy, embryonal/foetal development, parturition or postnatal development. As a precautionary measure, Cetix should not be used in pregnant women unless the doctor deems it necessary.
