Hello. If phytostatins are discontinued, will cholesterol levels suddenly rise (as in the case of synthetic statin), is it possible to stop supplementation?

Phytostatins, i.e. statins of plant origin, e.g. Monacolin K are exactly the same compounds as synthetic statins - they differ only in the method of obtaining: the former are isolated from plants, while the latter are obtained synthetically, so that not all statins will have their counterpart in nature. Monacolin K contained in dietary supplements is a lovastatin, belonging to the 1st generation of statins and present in some prescription drugs, e.g. Liprox or Lovasterol. Therefore, the effect of phytostatins is the same as prescription statins and after discontinuation of the preparation and the absence of changes in nutrition and lifestyle, cholesterol levels will increase. https://www.gdziepolek.pl/substancje/lowastatyna https://www.gdziepolek.pl/artykuly/wysoki-cholesterol https://www.gdziepolek.pl/kategorie/ziola-na-cholesterol
