Is it normal that the period after removing the Kyleen insert is more abundant?

3 weeks ago I took out the Kyleen insert. When wearing it, I practically did not bleed at all during menstruation. A few days ago there was a period, but it is very abundant, more than before putting on the insole. Is this normal? And can it already be normal menstruation or withdrawal bleeding?

The contraceptive effect of the Kyleen system is mainly due to its local effects in the uterus, so ovulation (egg release) usually still occurs in women using the Kyleen system. This means that the system does not inhibit the menstrual cycle, although it can affect it. There may be spotting (scanty bleeding), irregular, shorter or longer menstruation, more or less intense bleeding or no bleeding at all. The absence of bleeding is due to the absence of monthly thickening of the endometrium under the influence of the hormone. However, if the patient bleeds, it is not "withdrawal bleeding", because no withdrawal occurs - the system is in the uterus all the time and systematically releases the hormone. After removing the system, menstruation should return to the state before the system was established. If you are concerned about the abundance of bleeding, you should consult a gynecologist.
