Jeśli efekt leczenia lekiem Siofor jest niezadawalający, można wdrożyć suplementację chromem. Należy wówczas monitorować stężenie glukozy we krwi.
Ponieważ Letrox osłabia działanie Sioforu - być może po konsultacji z lekarzem warto zwiększyć dawkę leku przeciwcukrzycowego, wówczas suplementacja chromem nie będzie konieczna.
