Lipiforma to suplement diety zawierający monakolinę K pochodzącą z fermentowanego czerwonego ryżu.

Monakolina K to "naturalna statyna", ponieważ wykazuje podobieństwo w budowie chemicznej do statyn syntetycznych, które są lekami obniżającymi poziom cholesterolu dostępnymi na receptę. Słowo "naturalna" oznacza, że została pozyskana podczas fermentacji czerwonego ryżu.

Skoro więc monakolina ma budowę podobną do statyn – to ma również podobne działanie i skutki uboczne, a zatem prawdopodobne jest, że może powodować podwyższenie enzymów wątrobowych, np. ASPAT.
