After 3 weeks of using the disc, am I already protected if I put it on the 6th day of the cycle?

I have an additional question, namely the first disc I applied on the 6th day of the cycle I just made a mistake, I asked my doctor if I can do so he said yes but additional contraception is necessary for a month. After 3 weeks I took a 7-day break and then put on another disc or in this case I am secured? considering the fact that the previous disc practically did not work? should I really take a 7-day break?
