Is a congenital defect of the uterus a contraindication to the use of contraception in the form of an intrauterine device?
Hello. In August, at the visit, the doctor examined me gynecologically and ultrasound to see if I had any contraindications to the assumption of Mirena. After putting Mirene back on through ultrasound, he wanted to check if it was correctly distributed. Then he found out that I had a congenital defect of the uterus and that one arm was not fully decomposed. After about a week of time at the follow-up visit, he found (via ultrasound) that the other arm had decomposed. If you have a birth defect and a mirene, is there a chance to get pregnant??? I know that such a defect is a contraindication. However, the doctor said that everything is ok.

Mirena zapobiega zajściu w ciąże. Nie sądzę aby istniało takie ryzyko u Pani, zwłaszcza, że po założeniu była wykonywane kontrolne USG, na którym lekarz stwierdził, że Mirena jest założona w sposób prawidłowy, który zapobiega zajściu w ciąże.
W związku z tym pozostaje Pani teraz regularnie kontrolować obecność systemu przynajmniej raz do roku. Należy poinformować lekarza jeśli pojawią się jakie objawy jak:
wyczuwalne nitki w pochwie, wyczuwalna dolna część systemu, podejrzenie ciąży po upływie 4 tygodni od ostatniego badania USG, uporczywy ból brzucha, gorączka lub nietypowa wydzielina z pochwy, ból lub dyskomfort u partnerów w trakcie stosunku płciowego, nagłe zmiany w cyklu menstruacyjnym, wystąpienie innych problemów zdrowotnych, takie jak: migrenowe bóle głowy lub silne bóle głowy
