Does total cholesterol of 215.50 require the use of Artois or can you use a milder remedy, which one? Greetings and thank you for your reply.

Cholesterol całkowity u zdrowego człowieka nie powinien przekraczać 200 mg/dl. Aby lekarz podjął decyzję, czy faktycznie włączyć do leczenia statyny (np. atorwastatynę, m.in. Atoris) - potrzebne są jeszcze wyniki kilku innych badań, zwłaszcza poziom LDL - czyli złego cholesterolu oraz tablicy ryzyka SCORE - Tablica SCORE służy do oceny ryzyka zgonu danej osoby z powodu chorób układu krążenia w ciągu następnych 10 lat na podstawie występujących u niej czynników ryzyka, m.in. wiek, płeć, choroby współistniejące.
Zatem, sam podwyższony cholesterol całkowity nie stanowi wskazania do włączenia statyn, jeśli jednak wspomniane wyżej parametry odbiegają od normy - wówczas leczenie takie jest konieczne.
