Zarejestrowane wskazania do stosowania leku Izotek to terapia "ciężkich postaci trądziku (takich jak trądzik grudkowy bądź skupiony lub trądzik z ryzykiem powstawania trwałych blizn) u osób dorosłych i młodzieży powyżej 12 roku życia, tylko po okresie dojrzewania".
Według wytycznych leczenie powinno zostać wdrożone w przypadku braku skuteczności innych metod leczenia, natomiast dermatolog posiada w tym zakresie podejmowania indywidualnych decyzji.
