Tak, na 2-3 dni po odstawieniu leku objawy choroby mogą powrócić. W niektórych przypadkach po odstawieniu inhibitorów pompy protonowej (np. Emanera) obserwuje się nawet wzrost wydzielania kwasu żołądkowego, co objawiać się może zgagą, uciskiem w przełyku czy nadbrzuszu.
