Połączenie serum z witaminą C i kosmetyku z kwasem glikolowym sprawi, że witamina C nie będzie działać. Zalecane jest stosowanie kosmetyków z tymi składnikami o różnych porach dnia, np. witamina C rano, a kwas glikolowy wieczorem.
Z kolei połączenie witaminy C i niacynamidu (witamina B3) może sprzyjać pojawieniu się zaczerwienienia skóry i wyprysków. Można zachować przynajmniej 10 minutowy odstęp między produktami, aby uniknąć negatywnego działania lub stosować kosmetyki o różnych porach dnia.
