Dostępne mi źródła literaturowe podają, że wpływ na skuteczność antykoncepcji ma dziurawiec zwyczajny, a konkretnie zawarta w nim substancja czynna – hyperforyna, która pobudza wątrobę do szybszego rozkładania każdego rodzaju pigułek antykoncepcyjnych, a to osłabia ich działanie.
Podejrzewam, że z uwagi na to, że w przemyśle aptecznym jako surowiec leczniczy używany jest właśnie dziurawiec zwyczajny, to badania skupiają się na analizie interakcji tego właśnie gatunku.
