Side effects should disappear when all the ingredients of Pylera are excreted from the body.
The longest half-life, i.e. the time after which the concentration of the drug in the blood pants by half, has metronidazole. It is as much as 90 hours, i.e. almost 4 days.
Side effects after Pylera may therefore last for quite a long time, about 1-2 weeks.
Please remember that side effects of medications should be reported to your doctor or individually. By reporting side effects, you help other patients, including your relatives, who may also need the same drug one day. This step also allows us to gather more information on the safety of medicinal products and update data on them.
We wrote about how to do it here:

The first treatment 6 years ago was free of side effects for me. The stool was softer, grainy and dark. And that's it.
With this one, I felt like I had everything, from neurological to gastroentorological.
The first two days were symptom-free again. On the second, it started with tremendous nausea, a feeling of pressure, heartburn 1.5 hours after taking it. Then came brain fog, the feeling that I was on drugs. But it subsided after 1-2 hours.
In the further course I got crashes after the smallest efforts, also after cognitive ones, especially after cell phone use. My sleep deteriorated - became fragmentary, i.e. torn. Muscle pain, weakness, tremors. Again and again the feeling of intoxication came. Not continuously! Between doses, when the concentration of midazolam in the blood naturally decreased, relief came. And these symptoms did not all come at the same time, but gradually, some became lighter, others came.
It was worst between day 2 and 6, from the 7th the intensity of the whole thing decreased.
I'm now at the end of day 9.
However, I have to say, I have post-covid. I already had all this because of vegetative dysautonomia (guys, it was hell). Now because of Pylera many complaints came back. Nothing new. It is said that people with a stable autonomic nervous system tolerate pylera much better. Most neurological symptoms are caused by midazolam.
My tip: do breathing exercises (which help with irritated vagus nerve), cold on the neck (alternatively on the face, wrists). Never take on an empty stomach, stay horizontal hour after taking it (at least half an hour, not below 45 degrees in bed), drink plenty of fluids in between, chamomile tea and fennel can help to eat very lightly. Rest a lot, sleep in between if possible.
Be strength with you. I also have two chemotherapies behind me (18 and 13 years ago), so I can say something about it - it will pass.
Let's see how quickly it will pass for me when I have taken the last capsules
Hello! I started looking for information whether such a terrible feeling is normal after the Pyler therapy. And now I'm happier, because it turns out that it's not just me.
First, I was diagnosed with SIBO. And then the cause of SIBO - our friend Helicobacter.
The worst 10 days ever - I started to understand why people refuse treatment, although I think the symptoms were kind to me anyway.
Dizziness, stools and urine in all colors of the rainbow, weakness, lack of concentration, insomnia, sweating, feeling hot, muscle pain, dry mouth, pregnant belly, diarrhea, headache, abdominal pain, bone pain, nausea...
I started to wonder if I should start ticking off the side effects on the leaflet.
And when the 11th day came, so the blessed day without Pylera, then... It was the same. Diarrhoea, weakness, stomach pain, terrible fatigue, nausea...
Today the second day has passed, and the symptoms are still the same.
I support those who are in the process and I understand those who are already after. And I encourage those before - even despite this terrible condition, it is worth cleansing the stomach and being able to digest normally.
Hello everyone I hope you answer me.... I did the treatment cn plyera end of August none or side effects..... but after two months all hell broke loose lack of appetite insomnia anxiety intestinal dysbiosis cystitis but when all this passes flagiellomarianna@libero.it
Hello, today is a week since the end of treatment with the antibiotic pyera. I still can't recover, nausea, strange in the head, in the esophagus, neck pain, weakness. Is there anyone who can tell me when this will end?
Today I am finishing the 8th day of taking Pyler. On the first day, I immediately had a headache and stomach ache and felt like I had the flu. On the 4th day in the evening, terrible pain in the legs making it difficult to sleep and walk and - the drug was discontinued for 1 day and returned to further intake. Fortunately, the pain in my legs did not return. In general, the feeling of being shattered all the time. As for nausea, I also had it all the time, but otherwise calmly - the leaflet did not say how to eat exactly, but the Internet helped and thanks to a lot of sacrifices I did not have a "revolution"
I forgot to add that it was swollen and discomfort under the ribs. But probably until the stomach recovers, it will take a while...
Hello, I'm almost two weeks after the whole treatment, so I think 14 days. 4 medications plus a good probiotic. In the pharmacy, the pharmacist recommended Emenera plus a probiotic in the morning for an empty stomach. After at least an hour (I took after two hours) in the time of food or after eating the rest of the drugs for helicobacter plus.amotaxis 500 I think and one more substitute of course. And no.I regret it.takinsam.sklad a.the price is great. Because in each substitute there is the same.pyrela a.different.sie what is a coated tablet or simply a company !!
After two days, my tongue was dry from the night and I got rid of this white coating on my tongue. a.morning smell of eggs ... ble!! I felt of my own accord... Doctor and dentist ze.to.bacteria with inflammation from the tooth... And here it turned out something else. It started that my stomach started to hurt terribly and I couldn't.eat for two days. So in the morning the doctor will refer you for a gastroscopy.!! The helicobacter bacterium came out.
Not only that, she was at such a stage that she made an 8mm canker sore on my stomach. Inflammation of the esophageal pad. The samples went for examination.hustopathology.and I'm waiting for the results. what's important.the gastrologist said that this bacterium bothered me for a long time... I ate, I couldn't gain weight, frequent gelicated abdominal pain, discomfort. Toilet several times a day.
Now the treatment is over. I passed it.well . Maybe I feel discomfort under the left rib, more from the side. But it is the stomach that is swollen and tired by these drugs. . Apparently until it comes out.pyrola this drug is 2 weeks.it comes out of the body. Then I'll do it in two weeks. Testing for the presence of helicobacter or the treatment was successful. And a check-up with a gastrologist with all the results.
Did I have any side effects after the substitutes that cost me a total of 120 PLN.
It's a dry tongue, a metallic aftertaste, eye pain at the end of the treatment, no diet, but a slight discomfort in the stomach, I was a little appetizing, but.I tried to hydrate well ... so reaching for substitutes, I don't regret it.. so I wish you a lot of health and get tested, it's worth it.... Good luck
I wish I had read the reviews before buying this drug. Not only that it is mega expensive, but it is terribly debilitating for the body. I'm not a supporter of antibiotics, but everyone told me: "take it, you (helicobacter p.) need to be treated, there's no way out" so I took it. In addition, I took Emaner with Pyler.
The first two days were pretty good, the third day I walked like on some drug, dizziness, nausea, but worst of all, almost no sleep at night. The next night was the same sleep problems, during the day the symptoms were less (except for lack of sleep), but the night was a tragedy. I gave it a chance and took the medicine the next day, the night came and it was repeated again, I hardly slept at all, I wanted to cry.
Lack of sleep for several nights in a row is the worst thing that can happen, I don't wish this torment on anyone. I gave up. I stopped this drug after 5 days. I'm waiting for the side effects to pass because I'm lifeless, sleeping is still bad, and I have a strange headache. It's only been two days since I quit, so I probably need more time. I know that every body is different, but from what I read, a lot of people have side effects, so it's nasty. I don't recommend
I completed the entire 10-day course today. I had to rush to the emergency room because of bloating, nausea, abdominal pain, and severe vomiting. According to the doctors, the cause was gallstones. After I mentioned that I take pantoprazole, which provides relief in most cases, they tested me for H. pylori and prescribed me pylora treatment (3 tablets x 4 times daily) with PPI 40 mg twice daily. Today I finished the course. My side effects were increased bowel movements (2-3 times a day), muddy and sometimes black stools, slight weakness (especially when walking, you feel like you are walking abnormally like an old man), and finally less sleep (some days I could only sleep 5 hours and woke up with slight eye pain).
Others may also experience headaches, which I am personally less prone to. Even with a hangover, I hardly ever had headaches, but rather eye pain. Hope this helps!
I had such a thing that the doctor didn't want to do any tests for gastrointestinal problems, so I decided to do a private stool test and I got helicobacterium, first I got a referral to a psychologist and then to treatment with the antibiotic Pyler and I lasted only 4 days, because on the 3rd day I got such nausea, diarrhea, after a warm bath I almost fainted, my body trembled and totally rejected me from food, so I went to the emergency room yesterday and there, after talking to the doctor, She said that it was something different than Helico and I should stop taking antibiotics and do more tests, currently I have big problems with sleep and lack of appetite, sometimes my body tremors come back, but it's probably more from stress because I was given antidiarrheal and emetic medication and I don't know what to do next, I have to wait 7 days for blood and urine tests until my body normalizes, but it scares me that I don't feel like eating anything and lives all in all on water and waffles, sometimes some piece of cake :/
I take after the meal 1 to 2 swallow Retterspitz internally .. I also have a stomach ache..
I did the treatment for helicobacter pylera for 10 days, the period was supposed to come, it didn't come, I'm 44 years old, I went to the sauna 2 times in the first few days and after 2, 3 days I started to have unbearable heat, I sweat every 10 minutes, my face turns red and small pimples appeared on my body, I feel weak but the big problem is that I can't get over these unbearable heats, it's been 2 days since I finished and the pimples and heat persist
I am after the 8th day of therapy and I am not able to continue the treatment. headache, vomiting, palpitations, and general confusion. I'm sleepy, but because of the ailments mentioned above, I can't sleep. I wonder how much I will cleanse myself of it now. A dose of medicine would knock the horse down...
Okay, my doctor once said, never enter the forum because they will scare you so much that you won't take anything. I decided to write because people who are looking for information mainly come across people who are fond of advising everything and have thousands of side effects, including death. I took pylere because I got bacteria in my feces and from a section in my stomach. I'm a neurotic, so I take every symptom very well. But here, apart from the taste in the mouth, green or black stool, nothing happened. My advice is as follows. Do not use evenly every 6 hours because you will not get enough sleep, and this is the basis. I took 8, 13, 18, 23 3 pcs before each take, food and then washed down with at least a glass of lukewarm water. I don't know about others, but for me it worked like hy it secreted a lot of acid and irritated the stomach. But it was enough to eat something between the hours of taking the medication, i.e. halfway between doses, and it helped because I felt less acid in my mouth and my stomach wasn't so heavy. I don't know if it helped because I was taking it for problems with the intestines and I don't really know if tonta bacteria caused gas, bloating and pain in the lower abdomen, but today and it's the 10th day of taking it, I have less gas and the stool has become dark but compact, not jagged as it used to be
The frequency of dealing with them has also decreased to one every 2 or even 3 days before, sometimes 3 times a day. To sum up, it's hard because it's 120 pills and it's in 10 days, but there is no tragedy, I didn't have a headache, I didn't have diarrhea, heart palpitations, etc., and the fact that you sometimes feel dizzy or weaker is normal. I followed a diet in the morning soft eggs and sandwiches, lunch rice and chicken plus boiled carrots, in the evening again sandwiches with lean cold meat. If it helps, I would take it again, not to be afraid and not to read everything
The first 5 days, without any stronger symptoms, mainly lack of appetite. On the 6th day there are depressive and anxiety states and headache, on the 7th day total weakness and inability to work and drive, slight dizziness, drowsiness, slight headache, nausea, diarrhea, single and occasional in the veins in the legs, then in the arms, slight tingling (I take contraception at the same time) - here I wonder if there is a risk of thrombosis or if it should not be taken at the same time, e.g. cyclo3forte
Yesterday I finished the treatment. My liver was half swollen, a slight headache, a metallic taste in my mouth all the time I was taking the drug. However, the day after the end of the treatment, dizziness began. It was difficult for me to get up for work. The dizziness subsided only in the afternoon, in the evening it begins to return again... Is this a typical symptom, maybe you need to combine it with something else. Has anyone also undergone treatment like this?
Bad luck, I'm on the 3rd day and I've had heart palpitations at night since the first night. I don't sleep... I don't sleep anymore. I'm in pain, I'm working 46 hours this week... nausea, vomiting, excruciating digestion. Bloating, confusion.. I hope to survive it... I'm scared. Courage to all.
Hello, I finished the treatment 3 days ago, now I feel a little sick and I have a little heartburn, the medicine has not yet completely excreted, which can be seen because of the color of the stool. In general, I tolerated the treatment ok, there was no pain, nausea, vomiting or diarrhea, and I was afraid of that after the experiences of people taking Pylere. It was a nuisance to take pills 4 times a day, you have to be careful, and the fact that you can't eat dairy :(
I have 2 days left to take pylera. From the side effects I can mention: Headaches, weakness, and the worst of them - difficulty falling asleep and generally poor sleep quality. I hope it goes away after taking the medication because I always fell asleep like a baby, so fidgeting in bed for 2 hours in the evening knowing that you have to get up at 6 is a bit annoying.
Hello, I took Pyrole for only 4 days, after that time I got nausea, vomiting that lasted for several hours, headaches, numbness in the limbs and general weakness of the body. On the sixth day, I also got oral mycosis. The doctor warned me that there may be side effects, but I had no idea that so many at the same time.
Today I am finishing my treatment. It wasn't so terrible. For two days I had a bit of a headache and on the second day I was a bit sleepy. In fact, it probably works differently for everyone
Hello everyone, I finished pylera a week ago, it was terrible.. weakness dizziness fornocolii in the feet even today I am weak with the same symptoms I resisted to limit because the doctors told me to do it but it is a cursed drug .. spe8 never to need it again
@Maciej yes, the weight is going down a lot, I stopped weighing myself because I was so nervous that I was losing weight too quickly, then everything would go back to normal. This bismuth gives me the most pain, that's what the doctor told me.
It's very individual: I'm a week after the end of the antibiotic, while taking it for the first 3 days I felt a slight headache and increased drowsiness for a week (but I'm not sure if I shouldn't blame the winter solstice) and slight diarrhea for the first two days. Now nothing alarming is happening.
I'm 10 days after the treatment, I still feel abdominal pain, muscles, sometimes I'm fed up with everything, when it's over
I was also treated for the helicobater bacteria by Pylera.
After going back and forth to the emergency room, I spent the longest 10 days of my life, tremors, dizziness, anxiety, stomach pain, constipation, dizziness etc
I stopped the medication after 9 th day, because I couldn't stand it anymore and I didn't have any more energy.
Fortunately, the bacteria died, unfortunately after 3 months of quitting, I still have stomach pain.
I also remind you that the side effects sometimes come from proton pump inhibitors such as esomaprozole, for those who are about to start the cure do not hesitate to try other brands such as Mopral or famotidine.
How much weight you have lost while taking the drug or since you found out that you have helicobacter. Because in 4 weeks I lost 10 kg, including taking Pylera. Today I am on the first day since the end of the treatment. I feel fine, but I had to end up in the emergency room yesterday, where I got infusions with electrolytes. They did an abdominal ultrasound and everything was ok, blood was fine. I'm worried about the weight that I lost weight so quickly, did anyone have had a similar experience, or should I worry?

To @Anna:
The symptoms you describe – muscle or bone pain and dry mouth – may be side effects of Pylera. Paresthesia, which is a tingling, pain or discomfort sensation, is indeed listed in the leaflet as possible side effects. If the pain becomes more and more annoying and makes it difficult to function on a daily basis, it is worth consulting your doctor, as you may need to adjust your treatment.
Increased appetite is actually a positive symptom – it allows you to avoid weakness or nausea. It is important that you try to eat easily digestible meals, because this supports the effect of the drug and reduces the risk of stomach irritation. Be sure to drink plenty of water, which will help relieve dry mouth. If symptoms persist or worsen, please consult your doctor.
If you need more personalized advice, you can use teleconsultations here:
These are paresthesias, I think. These are listed side effects of the drug. Tiresome, indeed. They can even wake you up at night. My shoulders hurt so much. Appetite is a rather good symptom, it can help avoid other side effects, such as nausea.
Hello.
I'm taking the 7th day. Drug.
I'm wondering because the only side effect is pain in the bones or muscles in my legs, it's hard for me to say exactly - most at night or when I lie down. The pain is becoming more and more annoying day by day.
Has anyone had such a ?
Besides, maybe a dry mouth, I have an appetite like a wolf - I try to eat very easily digestible (not what I eat every day).

I've been taking Pylera for 8 days. It wasn't easy before, but somehow I managed to function at a reduced speed. I consulted my doctor about side effects. Abdominal pain, strange tremors, tingling in the arms at night, crushing in the chest. They did an ECG and blood tests, liver tests. Everything is normal. What bothers me the most is nausea, sometimes very strong, and a complete lack of appetite. Until the 7th day I ate little, but I ate something. For 2 days I have had a problem to eat anything. I feel sick all the time. Tomorrow is the last day of treatment. I consulted 2 doctors, each of them repeats like a mantra: do not stop, finish the treatment. The posts here helped me a lot. They are padoxally calming.
I am 4 weeks after the end of drug therapy.I barely made it, after the 5th day there was already such a crisis ..... weakness, mega lack of appetite, dry throat, bad taste in the mouth, and I had an ailment that the sides of the nervous system, some mental lows and depressed mood. After 4 weeks I am slowly coming back to life, but very slowly
He added that my menstruation was delayed for 5 days, and always like clockwork
Can I support in any way? With vitamins or magnesium
I would be grateful if someone could tell me when the horror will end. Do I have to go through hell for 2 or 3 more weeks?
Hello, I am desperately looking for fellow sufferers after taking the antibiotic Pylera. If I had known what was in store for me afterwards, I would probably never have taken it. Was positive for Helicobacter.
I took it for 10 days. The first 8 days no side effects, I was happy. I also took Omni Biotic on the side, no intestinal protection and pantoprazole 2x20 as stomach protection. On the 8th day it started with stomach pain and slight problems gastrointestinal problems. But after completion, the symptoms started a day later and have increased daily until today (day 8 after completion). I got circulatory problems, severe diarrhea, loss of appetite even when I smell food I get very strange, headache, back pain. One night I woke up at 3 a.m. and was shaking all over. Nerve problems in arms and legs, chills. I was in the emergency room twice, got infusions and was checked through, so far everything was fine. Blood values, ECG, ultrasound, nothing to see. But it just doesn't get any better. I can't sleep at night and have anxiety and panic attacks, so my doctor now sees psychological problems. I now take sedatives that only help to a limited extent. When will it finally get better, when will the diarrhea stop, can I eat and sleep again??? I am downright desperate. I've never felt so bad.
I'm writing to those who have a treatment before them - not everyone has such terrible symptoms as they describe here. I'm on the first day after the end of the treatment and my belly is still a little bloated, and otherwise the whole treatment is ok. It's bothersome, but apart from bad taste, a bit of well-being, bloating and belching, I didn't have any other bad symptoms (and not all the time). My wife 2 months ago was also mainly bloating and well-being, and that's ok - the treatment worked for her, and I'll find out in some time. I've also read these reviews before and I had concerns, but it went slightly compared to what others describe here, so I suspect that for most people the treatment is not so bad, and mainly those who wrote badly.
Good afternoon, it's been 6 days since I finished treatment and I still feel unwell, dizzy and depressive. Will it all go away? Thank you
I started the treatment, today is the 6th day and everything is ok! Everyone apparently has a different experience, you can't be discouraged! Maybe I'm slightly sleepy and that's it...
I stopped the Pyler treatment after consulting the doctor after 9 days. The last three days the headaches were unbearable. As always, so far medication helped me with specific diseases, in this case nothing helped me for a long time. Even when I started to feel better in the middle of therapy, after the 6th day the pains returned, sometimes intensified. Large doses of drugs supporting imbioration, including pyralgin, brought only temporary relief. Then everything came back. Waking up at night, chest pains, feeling terrible and depressive. I'm on the 2nd day after withdrawal, the sharp headaches don't stop. If you don't have to take it, avoid this drug, because you can go through a two-week horror with a fight for survival and yourself in the lead role. Well, unless the attending physician prepares you for this treatment much better than me, and I think from the perspective that it is possible, but you have to take into account many more drugs during therapy, unfortunately.
Hello, when will you feel better? I'm 6th day after the antibiotic, still weak, no appetite, no strength, I've lost 10 kg...
Is there anything to do about it?
I also finished the pyler treatment yesterday.
The symptoms were such that until the 4th day it was fine, and after the 5th there was a crisis. Nausea, dizziness. But I didn't stop. The 6th day was good, and on the 7th and 8th day there was another crisis, abdominal pain and blood in the urine, because the drug caused cystitis. But the doctor gave me furagin and I survived those 9th and 10th days, but it was very hard. Now I'm waiting for the drugs to come off from my body. I still feel nauseous and sometimes dizzy and have a metallic taste. And I'm very weak.
I finished the treatment yesterday and still the terrible side effects when will the end of all this thank you
I finished taking Pylera, the only symptom is like heartburn in the esophagus, black stool, and so no symptoms, maybe slight abdominal pain.
Severe headache, severe dizziness, stomach pain, nausea, drugged feeling, confusion of speech, blurred vision, depression, high blood pressure, I was unable to do anything except sit and look at one point. On top of that, diarrhea and stool without smell, the belly inflated to the maximum like a balloon. The worst first 3 days, then the symptoms eased a bit, but they were still there. When I reported my malaise to the doctor, I was told that I "have to" endure it, because the helicobacter needs to be gotten rid of. Today is the first day after the end of the treatment: I feel inflammation of the tongue, gynecological inflammation, weakness, pain under the left rib, pain in the left side of the abdomen. I don't know what next. I'm surprised that I survived it.
I caution against taking this medication unless absolutely necessary!!
In my case, after the 2nd day, cardiac arrhythmias, burning in the chest for 2 days, excessive fatigue and high heart rate after any activity persisted for 4 days after discontinuation of the drug, and dizziness on the 4th day after discontinuation of the drug.
It is a very strong drug and it caused side effects in me
I'm in the middle of a leak in my stomach cardia, each tablet is stuck in my throat and I'm weak, no appetite.
I only used pylere for 2 days and had to give it up. Headache, nausea, weakness, strange taste in the mouth, dryness, being full, bloating, quite high blood pressure for me. The doctor from the night care told me to stop taking pylera. So this drug is not for me. You have to look for natural ways, maybe it will work.
